Track Name: Blinders
Turn on your television.
Regurgitate your frustrations.
You can scream at the screens, cursing all that you see,
but your anger is bought and sold
through propaganda and ignorance.
You think you're making a difference.
From sea to shining sea, wolves devour the sheep,
your fear consuming all that you know.
One day you'll be forced to reap all that you sow.
And you'll be choking on the hate-speak
you tried to pass down to your sons and your daughters,
as you're led to be slaughtered.
And you're realizing that you're all alone.
Surrounding changes scaring you to your bones.
And we'll bury you six feet deep in your hatred.
It's so moronic and dated,
free and uneducated.
It's time to take those blinders off!
Take those blinders off!
Track Name: Old Fires New Frontier
Give me your hungry, your tired, your poor.
But you turn away when they're
knock knock knocking at your door.
That never really made sense to me.
Close all the borders, seal all the shores
Turn off all the lamps, we don't accept applicants any more.
You're on the wrong side of history.

Old fires burn along the new frontier.
(We’ll tear it down, we’ll tear it!)
Old fires burn along the new frontier.
(We’ll tear it down, we’ll tear it!)
DOWN

Oh! I'm a refugee!
Huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
(So where's your fucking sympathy!)
Oh! I'm a renegade!
You xenophobic, I am turned away.
(I guess your faith led you astray!)

Old fires burn along the new frontier.
We're tearing down your yesteryear.
The future’s ours. We can see clear.
We're tearing down your yesteryear.
Old Fires!
New Frontier!
Track Name: Serendipity City
Blacktop driveways. Chicago heat.
Serendipitously, these summers meet.
I'm standing, I'm waiting on the edge of Michigan Lake.
The Windy City's so far away.
But I can feel the ocean air kiss my face.
You're on the other side of the country and you're waiting for me.

I never was good at writing love songs,
though this heart it bends, it breaks.
I've been holding on to this for oh so long.
And I'm planning our escape.

Let’s not make this complicated.
No maps, no boundaries.
Confinement, I've created.
This heart it wants what it can't see.

I'm back again, old weeping willow.
Your branches wise though you don't speak.
You heal my wounds and kiss my stitches.
Your leaves they fall onto the street.

Let's run away. Run away.
If we leave tonight, we'll avoid this stormy weather.
(Travel through the night, unfamiliar city lights.)
Let's run away. Run away.
Never looking back, on this highway forever.
(Passing through state lines, ignoring exit signs.)
Track Name: Hang My Head
So what am I supposed to do now?
Graduation day has come and gone.
No future plans in front of me to follow.
I'm no silver spoon fed senator's son.
Unemployment’s thirty six percent.
Family table's bare, can't pay the rent.
Red white and blue is full.
I can't defend to my country. I'm a problem
I'm all out of options.
I guess I'll just....

Hang my head. Leave this town although it's all I know.
Hang my head. Drown away in red tape undertow.
Hang my head. Will work for food and shelter cardboard signs.
Hang my head. I guess I'll just hang my head and wait for a solution.
In the meantime, I'll keep my gears moving.

I'm trying to put myself back together.
It's kind of hard when you're predetermined
and destined to be a failure.

We are.....the Future leaders of America!

Hang my head. Leave this town although it's all I know.
Hang my head. Drown away in red tape undertow.
Hang my head. Will work for food and shelter cardboard signs.
Hang my head. I guess I'll just hang my head .
Track Name: Short Shorts
From the back of the bedroom, there's a muffled cry.
The pinstriped cotton sheets speak of serial deceit,
a bed of nails and drug soaked lies.
But the hurt and the shame, the misplaced blame
comes from those who'd rather throw these stones of gray
of "No one will believe you anyway."
Never believe a word they say.

They'll say you asked for it. Question your intentions.
There gonna say you should make better choices.

From the front of the courtroom, the tears are pantomimed.
Without admitting guilt of the blood he spilt,
false accusations he’ll hide behind.
But the progress made despite the wounds and the pain
is worth more than skewed scales upon which they're weighed.
And they could never take that away.
No one will ever take that away.

They'll say you asked for it. Question your intentions.
There gonna say you should make better choices.
But we won't stand for this. We want every allegation.
And blare the sirens for the voiceless.

Boy will be boys will be boys will be boys.
Don't believe that lie. It's just fucking noise.
It’s just fucking noise.
Track Name: Someone Somewhere
There's a woman filling out an application.
Out of work she really needs this job
to feed her family despite a lack of education.
This world, it favors those born at the top.
The manager, he holds a promised opportunity.
Decisions jaded by the day to day (day to day).
He shakes his head it hangs this part it's never easy.
We're just not interested today.

Someone somewhere... is struggling just to fight.
Someone somewhere... won't make it through this lonely night.

There's a man standing outside of a hardware store,
praying someone will give him work.
He waits so patiently. He paces silently.
He'll stand all day breathing exhaust and dirt.
Oh the sun, it's hot, it's beating down, it's blistering.
He'll deflect dirty stares from those who'll never understand
that there's a beauty in a spirit so tenacious.
It shines so brilliant, so bright, so courageous.

I'm trying to keep myself alive.
I stumble but I'll pick up the pieces.
I'm dying one day at a time.
The struggles in the pain, it never ceases.

Someone somewhere...
Track Name: Niemöler's Regret
First they came for Socialists.
I kept my mouth shut.
Then they came for Unionists.
I kept my mouth shut.
They came for everybody else.
Didn’t do a goddamned thing.
Then one day they came for me.

Protest times and the living ain't easy.
You can't sit on the fence no longer.
The resistance is growing stronger.
Picket signs, demonstrating solidarity.
Because these problems won’t go away.
They manifest and fan the flames.
No!

I can’t make a difference.
And who am I to judge?
They’re not really hurting anybody.
At least not me or my family.

So, put ‘em on the front line.
Carry on and mark time.
How can you just sit there and turn a shoulder?
Follow in the footsteps.
Beat ‘em til it makes sense.
The funeral parade is marching closer.

Hey-e-yay-ay. They came and took your family.
No-oo-whoa-oh. No-oo-whoa-oh.
Hey-e-yay-ay. They came and took your family.
No-oo-whoa-oh. No-oo-whoa-oh.
Hey-e-yay-ay.
No-oo-whoa-oh.

First they came for Socialists.
I kept my mouth shut.
Then they came for Unionists.
I kept my mouth shut.
They came for everybody else.
Didn’t do a goddamned thing.
Then one day they came for me
Track Name: Empty Chairs
The telephone it rings. The other end, it's bad news.
I'm held in disbelief. My heart is pounding.
I'm tearing out the door.
Where's my keys? And where's my shoes?
My feet are moving, but my world is crumbling.
The lights are flashing. My head is gone. I'll be there soon.
En route the hospital, to say one last goodbye to you.

These fluorescent lights bounce off the walls. They wander
down these halls of white. Each room expelling somber.
Emotions pouring out. Regrets are growing stronger.
Can you just hold on please for one more second longer?

I'm standing bedside. The time of death is 12:03.
Time suspending though these hands keep ticking.
Suppressing memories. My life will never be the same.
I can't stop shaking. Is this room is spinning?
The curtains drawn. I bolt the room. I brace for rain and cloudy weather.
These tears are streaming, but the sun is shining.
Thinking back on all the times we shared together.
What would I give for one more, just one more day to spend with you?

Whoa oh, the kitchen table's empty tonight.

These fluorescent lights bounce off the walls. They wander
down these halls of white. Each room expelling somber.
Emotions pouring out. Regrets are growing stronger.
Can you just hold on please for one more second longer?

Surfacing memories haunt these streets. I still remember. Conversations had with you when we were younger.
Innocent times we shared in those hot humid summers
I'll keep them for myself close to my heart forever.
Track Name: Villains
I'm feeling gutsick.
I'm feeling unamused.
I can't pick myself up off this ground.
I'm feeling beaten down, broken and abused.

There hangs a photograph
of who we used to be.
So young, so proud, so innocent,
so fucking naive.

So I'll sit right down and write this letter.
To my former self: I wish I would've known better
not to trust in those who would ultimately drag me down.
And bury my head beneath this destination town.

Villainy, ph sweet villainy.
You smile and grin and bare your teeth.
You tear the flesh right off of me.
Villainy, oh sweet villainy.
As I close my eyes and try to sleep,
your burrowed thorns are all I see.

ALL I SEE!
Track Name: Devil In The Moonlight
I received your postcard in the mail today.
The back was blank but the picture on the front knew just what to say.

*Palms on a canvas of gold and blue.
This invitation is to come see you.*

I wanna buy a ticket and take a ride.
See the sights, hear the sounds on the other side.

*Feel the wind beneath my toes and just disappear.
This destination ain't one to fear.*

The conductor calls my name. I'm good to go.
This trip is permanent .It's me for whom the bell tolls.

If you had the chance,
would you accept a dance
with the devil in the moonlight?
Yeah with the devil in the moonlight.

If you had the chance,
would you accept a dance
with the devil in the moonlight?
Yeah with the devil in the pale moonlight.
